Turkey Sausage Sandwiches!!! YAY!

This dish was cooked up and paired with Cheesy With Asparagus & Dungeness Crab Dip and was amazing.  It’s just like what you’d hope to get at a ball park or a fair, the caramelized Onions and Peppers add sweetness to the smoked sausage, and in turn the sausage picks up the sweetness from cooking it in the same pan as the Veggies!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Lb Jennie-O Smoked Turkey Sausage
  • 1/2 Red Onion
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mrs. Dash
  • 4-6 Hoagie Rolls
  • 4 – 6 Slices Muenster Cheese

RECIPE

  1. I cooked this in a wok, you don’t have to, you can use a regular sized pan.  Either way, bring it to Medium-High Heat
  2. Add Oil
  3. Slice the Onions and Bell Pepper
  4. Dice the Garlic
  5. Add the Veggies to Oil
  6. Season with Salt and Pepper
  7. Saute for 10-15 Minutes until Caramelized
  8. Set Aside
  9. Slice your Sausage on an angle in 1/4′ strips
  10. Add Sausage to Pan
  11. Season with Mrs. Dash
  12. Cut Hoagie Rolls in Half
  13. Toast Hoagie Rolls (If you have a toaster oven add the cheese before you toast)
  14. Cook until Browned, 7 – 10 Minutes
  15. Top Toast with Cheese
  16. Top Cheese with Sausage
  17. Top Sausage with Veggies
  18. SERVE!
