Samba Restaurant | Redondo Beach, CA | INCREDIBLE BRAZILIAN BBQ!!

Samba Redondo on the Redondo Beach Marina

My friend Adam had picked me up from work and we decided we wanted Brazilian Barbecue, considering neither of us had had it before.  There was a restaurant on the way home, but it was closed, so we decided to regroup and see what Urban Spoon had to say about it.  From Urban Spoon we heard of the restaurant, Samba, in Redondo Beach.

When we got there, it turned out to be right at the Redondo Marina.  The restaurant has a low lit entrance and an excellently designed interior.  We were sat at a booth that over looked the ocean, then our server, Catarina, came over and explained that we would be receiving a series of 10 different types of meat along with an endless side-bar buffet.

  • Beef Stroganof
  • Lamb Stew
  • Fresh Mozzarella
  • Salad
  • Asparagus
  • Beans and Chorizo

What types of meat are there?

  • Tri-tip
  • Bacon Wrapped Chicken
  • Chicken Legs
  • Sirloin
  • NY Strip Steak
  • Pork
  • Pork Ribs
  • Sausage
  • Their Signature Beef
  • Lamb

All of the proteins are cooked over a mesquite fire-pit and carved tableside.  Of all the proteins, I had not one complaint.  ALL the steak was perfectly medium rare, melt in your mouth goodness.  Their Signature Steak had a thin layer of fat that made the meat fall apart.  The pork chops had an incredible smokey flavor with a hint of something like apple juice.  The bacon wrapped chicken was the most tender chicken I can recall ever eating, and the Chicken legs were amazing also!

Food Served Tableside

As far as the side bar goes, I didn’t eat a single thing I didn’t like.  The Lamb Stew was slightly bland, but that was only in comparison to the extremely bold flavors of everything else on the bar.  My favorite side bar dish was the Cheese Bread; the Cheese Balls are misleading, because you would think it’s just bread with cheese in it, but this is a thin layer of bread with a big melty ball of cheese!  Adam’s favorite was the  Chipotle Bacon Pasta Salad, which wasn’t very spicy, but very flavorful and the bacon was a great addition, as it is to so many things.  We ended up eating for over an hour and a half, and had to be carried out with dollies. . . not seriously, but we were sluggish to say the least.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in the year I’ve been in LA, our server Catarina was helpful, the guy that carves the meat made sure we were stuffed, the food was amazing, the decor was great, and the view was extremely enjoyable.  This is the highest rated Eating In Bed Review as of yet!!!
