Tracy’s Powdered Donuts

These are some of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had.  My girlfriend’s mom is the creator of this recipe, and the secret ingredient is unhealthy lard.  I know you’re thinking it’s bad, but it’s ohhhhhh soooo good.  They’re great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or when you’re already asleep.  Anytime is the perfect time for one of these doughnuts

  • 2 Packages of Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits (from the refrigerated section)
  • 1 – 2 Cups Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 Cups Confectioners Sugar

  1. Heat up your lard to a medium high heat until the lard is nice and liquid
  2. Pull a small circle out of the center of the biscuits, about the size of a nickel
  3. Get the powdered sugar in a bowl
  4. Throw your doughnuts in the lard cook about 30 seconds – 1 minute per side until golden brown
  5. Pull them out a little earlier than you’d assume because they burn easily
  6. Toss them in the powdered sugar and set them on a plate
  7. Be sure to cook the Doughnut Holes too!
  8. SERVE!
